By eliminating the need for a secondary USB-to-serial converter chip, the Leonardo R3 can connect to your computer and emulate a native USB Keyboard, Mouse, or Joystick. Power Rails: Flexible power routing via the standard 2.1mm center-positive DC Jack, a stable Micro-USB port, or directly through the VIN and GND header lines.
Hardware PWM Outputs: Allocated across pins 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 for precise analog-write operations.
Built-in I2C & SPI Traces: Features dedicated SDA and SCL pins next to the AREF header for seamless sensor hookups. Note: Unlike the Uno, the SPI bus pins are only accessible via the central 6-pin ICSP header.
External Interrupts: Supports hardware external interrupts on pins 0, 1, 2, 3, and 7, giving you high-speed monitoring for encoders and safety sensors.

Note for Developers: When uploading sketches via the Arduino IDE, ensure you select "Arduino Leonardo" from the Boards Manager menu. Because the USB port resets dynamically when a new program is flashed, your computer's assigned COM port may briefly change during the upload sequence—this is completely normal behavior for the ATmega32u4 architecture!
